KJB query
As some of you know my church Pastor, elders and members are not KJB lovers, infact the opposite would be more accurate.
Would it be better to just go to a KJB Home Group Bible Study than church? |

If you lived in a place where there are King James churches in every town, the answer would be obvious: change churches. But that's not always an option, even in the United States. I want you to get some good input on this question, and hope others will chime in. I'm gonna have to pray before I attempt to answer any further, but I will, as God gives me some light! One thing's for sure: you're not the only person in this situation! ![]() |

RE: KJB query
Sister, I agree that prayer is necessary here.
After I got saved, I went to a Presbyterian church, even joining it. They used the NIV, even had those 'bibles' in the pews for the members to use, but that version grated on my spirit every time our pastor preached from it. I went there for about nine months, then prayed and looked for a King James believing church, and found it! Both my dh and I were baptized there, and continued to worship and work in ministries for about seven years. Why we left is another story, and doesn't address your question here. I had a choice, I was able to find a King James church in the area, but I don't know your situation. I also don't know how the people who don't like the KJB in your church affect the worship of God: are they openly and actively anti-AV or is it just the little things they say that bother you, like "a better version is..." or "the original Greek said..." ? If it's the former, a church with other KJB believers held in someone's house might be better, more edifying for both you and your husband. If the leaders in your church just irritate you with their 'superior knowledge' and condescension about the King James Bible, then you might be able to worship there without too much frustration. Others here are also looking for a good church, and we're praying about it. I'll add it to my prayers, too. ![]() Pray for Eleanor & John and Rod for salvation! Although they were not KJB only, I believed that I might make a difference. Long story short, I got sick in the spring, missed a few Saturday morning men's groups study sessions due to my job, then had a couple of weeks off for my cataract surgery. During the time I missed, NOT ONE member of the men's group or church had contacted me (and we have a very active email list) to see why or what was going on with my sudden lack of attendance. Needless to say, I am now searching for a local KJB church group. We just need to pray that the Lord will show us the way. |

RE: KJB query
It can be very difficult to decide what is the right thing to do. Eagle and I went to a Southern Baptist church here for 4.5 years where they used the NIV and other per-versions. In 2008 when we switched to the KJB we started feeling that we needed to leave. It wasn't until February, after much prayer and discussion that we started attending our current church (a KJBO, Independent Baptist) and we left our old church. It wasn't an easy thing to do - there were (and still are) those who don't understand and who refuse to speak to us. All I can encourage you to do is pray, pray, pray! The Lord will not guide you in the wrong path. I have added this to my prayer list as well.

RE: KJB query
I don't know how to explain what is happening in our church. The King James Bible causes allergic reactions and if you dare have one you have a cult mind set.
A woman is preaching next week, this is an ongoing problem for my husband and me.Clicky groups is another problem,as well as Godly gossip. They are soft on Roman Catholics and my husband and I were told we are in sin if we do not call them brother's and sister's in Christ.....on and on it goes. My husband is on the Leadership team and Prison Ministry which allows women to preach to all male prisoners, they are all NIV sermons as are our sermons at church and Iam ticked off. My attitude is one of hostility now inside me.My husband digs his toes in to stay in this church as he likes the respect he gets for being in Leadership and Prison fellowship. My husband is just doing his best, the problem is me. I really am a problem. My eldest son and his wife are coming back from Canada next year for awhile, and my son won't go to our church and his father keeps pressuring him to.My son has his KJB and he has no interest in being attacked again for believing it is God's word. I have told my husband in advance that while my son is here in NZ I will be going to a King James Bible Believing church with him and his wife for the months they are here with us.My husband is scared I will love it so much I won't want to go back to the church we attend. Maybe,I was thinking,if I join their Bible study group in the week,I might then be able to go our church and not feel so anti once my son goes home. |

RE: KJB query
Pray for the Lord to make His will clear to your husband, whether to stay or to go.
As far as you leaving the church to go elsewhere, even if your husband stays, that's a tough one to figure. We're supposed to obey God over men, but we, as wives, are to follow our husband in our spiritual area. I'm going to let one of the more mature men give you advice on that. I'll just pray in the meanwhile... ![]() Pray for Eleanor & John and Rod for salvation!
