Laura's salvation testimony
I grew up in the United Church of Canada so I received my own copy of Good News for Modern Man when I was ten. Never read it though, even back then it didn't seem like a Bible to me. (In fact, I remember being disappointed because when my brother got his grade 5 Bible from the church, he got a KJB! Turns out, just because they ran out of Good News Bibles.) I also got my Gideon's NASV New Testament when I was ten, back when Gideon's was still allowed to visit public schools. I used to get a tract and an apple from a house two blocks away at Halloween...never was allowed to eat the apple, but did get to keep the tract, and I read it, but didn't understand.

That's where seeds were planted.

Then as the Lord was trying to get my attention, of all things, He used a series of fender-benders when I was a delivery driver. I drove for 8 years and probably averaged one every couple years. Well, after the last one I was angry and frustrated and sitting at a busy intersection outside the dealership when the WDCX bumper sticker on the car ahead of me caught my eye. So I flipped my truck radio to that station....a Christian station.....and listened. And listened. And listened some more, over a period of about two months.

One morning I heard "Turning Point" with David Jeremiah and I forget exactly what he was speaking on, but he explained the Gospel at the end of the show and things finally clicked. The Holy Spirit opened my understanding and I saw my need for a Saviour and I accepted Christ right there, in the delivery truck, while listening to Christian radio.

Woo hoo! I love that testimony, sister.

God can use anything, even David Jeremiah, to help us to see His truth.

I like David Jeremiah too, and a few other preachers on Christian radio.

After I was saved, I was a Christian listening to Christian radio! Biggrin But I'm here to tell ya, you never saw the station changed or the volume turned down so fast as when someone else got into that truck! :laughi10:

That is a great testimony, twin!

It is funny in a sad sort of way, how quickly people will change the channel/station when they feel uncomfortable with the Christian material yet don't flinch when they are listening to/watching cursing, murders, etc. etc. etc.

Since last year when I stopped listening to worldly music Jesus has truly taken that desire out of my heart. If i'm in the car with someone I feel such a conviction if they have the worlds music playing. It has become as offensive to me as anything.

Sorry.. I'll start a new thread next time.

No problem, brother. I want to reply to your CCM thread too, but that's gonna take some thought first, lol!
