My Letter I've Written Never Meaning To Send.
Dear God,
Hi. It's me again. Do you remember me? When I first believed? Do you remember when I was a babe in Christ? God?? Can I go back? Remember when I didn't know about Bible versions? Remember how you would make my Bible just fall open and solve my problem and how I praised you? (I had the wrong version.)....were you turning a blind eye and being kind? God??? Remember when I didn't know women were not allowed to preach in a mixed assembly? Remember when I rocked out to POD Cd's as I did my housework? I don't do that now. Remember when I loved Narnia The lion The Witch and The Wardrobe? **SIGH** I know differently now. God??? Remember when I was so happy and I would claim passages and quote them for me BEFORE I found out they are not for a grace age christian. God??? Remember when if sickness came I would bind Satan and speak healing in your name. Now we just suffer. God??? Remember when I didn't worry about leavened or unleavened bread for the Lord's supper? Remember when I wore my jeans or slacks without a worry in my mind? God I'm not posting this . Mrs Hayseed PS I LOVE YOU. |

RE: My Letter I've Written Never Meaning To Send.
Oh, how I wish I had my notes from last night's church service, sister Mary Alice!
Our pastor preached on growing in the Lord. I'm not quoting him, directly, but from what I think I remember, and what I know, and what *I* think. When we are born again, we are babes. We cannot handle strong meat, but only milk, so we are fed milk. If things we have are taken away, we hollar and scream, like the babies we are. 'Milk' Christians are like that: they are offended if you take things away from them. And then, if we continue through prayer and study and meditation upon God's word, we begin to grow. We, like children, as we grow, discover that things aren't as rosy, or as innocent or naive as when we were younger. There is pain with growth, but growth is necessary. What would you think of a 30 year old man wearing diapers and drinking formula from a bottle? Growth is evidence of life. If you don't grow in love and knowledge of the Lord, it doesn't mean that you aren't saved, a child of God, but it's not healthy. Do you remember the first time you realized that something, like Santa Claus, was a lie, was not true? How did you feel? The difference I see is that as we grow in the Lord, we might feel loss for the innocence we have left behind, but WE HAVE THE LORD! Like William pointed out in another post, we don't need the feelings as we grow, sort of like how a child no longer needs his father holding onto the bicycle as he rides, or doesn't need his training wheels anymore. He's growing up, and will leave childhood behind eventually. The loss of innocence is sad, but the reward of an adult relationship with the Lord...how can we compare the two? I hope my rambling makes some sense, and is a blessing to you. Pray for Eleanor & John for salvation!
Pray for Ronnie! Pray for Gary! Pray for Rod for salvation! ![]() "And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee." Genesis 13:14-17 |

RE: My Letter I've Written Never Meaning To Send.
Dear Sister Hayseed, this may not be your style of music, but I imagine you'll appreciate the lyrics. We've all been there: the weariness you described is a universal experience among God's children, from purple-haired cuties in New Zealand to howling blacks in the United States .... and me.
The song, written by Andrae Crouch, is sung here by his sister, Sandra. Take me back, take me back dear Lord
To the place where I first received you. Take me back, take me back dear Lord where I first believed. I feel that I'm so far from you Lord But still I hear you calling me Those simple things that I once knew, The memories are drawing me. I must confess, Lord I've been blessed But yet my soul's not satisfied. Renew my faith, restore my joy And dry my weeping eyes. Take me back, take me back dear Lord To the place where I first received you. Take me back, take me back dear Lord where I first believed. I tried so hard To make it all alone I need your help Just to make it home. Take me back, take me back dear Lord To the place where I first received you. Take me back, take me back dear Lord where I first believed. Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him. Job 13:15a
Please pray for Laura and Daniel. Thank you!

I've never heard that song before, but just the lyrics brought tears to my eyes.
Y'know, I think we may just return to that place once we make it Home. |
