Kaylee's Kitchen
So dad tells me that there's been requests for some of my recipes on here.
I decided to make this thread giving everyone a new recipe everyday. Now, before we get started, I feel I should add a disclaimer. I lost my mother when I was 11, before I really started to learn how to cook. So for the most part, I've taught myself how to cook. Dad taught me a few things but for the most part, it's been me.So if my instructions seem a little strange, this is just how I learned to do things. But I haven't poisoned dad or my brothers yet so I think you're fairly safe. I will also be posting tips and things that I have learned. The first recipe is the one actually requested. Chicken Vermicelli Two medium to large chicken breasts (boned or boneless doesn't matter) Two 6oz. cans of tomato paste Two 8oz. cans of tomato sauce One box vermicelli pasta or angel hair spaghetti ( either works) Ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder and chile powder Set the chicken breast to boil in a medium to large pot, season the water with seasons listed above. While chicken is boiling, mix tomato sauce and paste in a bowl, and season to taste with the seasonings listed above. Mix in one cup water from the boiling chicken. Set sauce aside. When chicken is done cooking, pull the chicken breasts out. Do not drain. Place pasta into left over chicken water and let cook. You may add more water if need be. While pasta is cooking, let chicken breast cool, then shred. When pasta is done, drain and put back into the pot, pour sauce and chicken in and mix well. Put on low heat and let warm until thoroughly heated. Dish and serve. For casserole style spread in 10x13 glass baking dish and cover with shredded cheese. Bake in oven at 350 for 10-30 minutes or until cheese is melted. NOTE: I forgot to add, if you don't like chicken, you can substitute it using pork. |

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Psalm 95:6-7a The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow.

RE: Kaylee's Kitchen
I must add a disclaimer here. If you have a question about something in a Kaylee recipe. Don't ask me. She has rthe same rule her mother did, dad is not allowed in kitchen while she is cooking. Some misunderstanding about free unlimited samples. Go figure!!

Open and pour in soup. Add cup of macaroni then shake in dried onions(as much or as little as you want) Mix well then add a couple handfuls of shredded cheese(once again, as much or as little as you want) Mix all together, if too thick add some warm water. RE: Kaylee's Kitchen
This is a little tip I have. It's not actually a cooking tip.
I got this tip from my grandfather, he ran the dry cleaning concession at Fitz Simmons army hospital in Denver, Colorado for 30 years. He passed it to my mom then passed it to me. Tip for getting blood out of clothes. 1 tsp. Unseasoned meat tenderizer (found in the seasoning section) A few drops of warm water (Do NOT use cold water, it makes the blood set) Mix meat tenderizer and drops of warm water to make a paste. Depending on size of stain, you may have to make more. Spread paste over stain and let sit for 20 minutes. Wipe leftover paste off with warm wash cloth then put through the wash like normal. Should remove stain with no problems. |
