I lost one of my outdoor kitties today, "Mouse":

He was 'only' a cat, but he was my favorite, and I'm going to miss how he used to come to me mewing when he wanted attention.
Aww, I'm sorry. That's always sad. :frown:
Yes HereAmI we miss how they come and see what we are upto when we go to get the mail and do gardening. They follow around us.
Did Mouse make a nuisance of himself when you hang washing out? trying to get into the laundry basket?
No, I don't hang wash outside, but Mouse would follow me and Tirzah when we'd head down the street for a walk. In the evening he'd be waiting in the driveway when my dh and I came home from work. And he was usually the first one waiting for us on the steps in the morning.

"Oh, he just wanted to be fed" might be someone's response, but that was not true. "Mouse" would rub me and mew, and inspect the food as I placed it on the ground, but then he would wait, and watch over his brothers and sisters while they ate, as if he were standing guard.

He was a sweet cat.

Mouse sounds like he was very giving and loving.
Just a few more pictures, and I'll stop.

With his two sisters, as half grown kittens:

With half brothers Watson and Yang, last winter. They're all gone, now:

From last winter, sharing shelter and warmth with his half sister, Ying:

Lovely looking well cared for outside cats HereAmI...it never fails to amaze me how some people think outside cats just hunt for food and gosh they look mangy.
I'm so sorry!
Thank you.

His mother came by our house, over two years ago, starving and pregnant. We fed her. She gave us four kittens, of which three survived. Then before we could get her spayed, she gave us four more.

The momma cat raised her kittens to be afraid of us, so it took time and patience to get them to be friendly. I have lost the three friendliest this year, so it's doubly hard. The remainder of the cats allow little to no 'touching'.
