At the Grace and Truth Church my husband and I attended last night,we were not familar with the hymns.
We wondered where Beulah Land is after they sang "I'm living on the mountain,underneath a cloudless sky,I'm drinking at the fountain that never shall run dry;
O yes,I'm feasting on the manna from a bountiful supply,
For Iam dwelling in Beulah Land."

My husband whispered to me,"Beulah Land?" I whispered back," yes,we'll be picking cotton somewhere I think."

So what is this hymn about?

So this is the Millennial Kingdom.

I would venture to say, yes, because it all sound futuristic to me. Twocents
Woo! That's a good hymn, sister. I never heard it until I joined my current church.

The first time I heard of 'Beulah Land' was at a King James Jubilee in Mount Airy, NC: we went there to hear Dr. Ruckman preach.

The song, copied below, got the congregation hootin' and hollarin'.

This was also the first time I heard bluegrass gospel, and I fell in love with it, immediately.

Enjoy the song:

Beulah Land

I'm kind of homesick for a country
To which I've never been before.
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken
for time won't matter anymore.

Beulah Land, I'm longing for you
and some day on thee I'll stand.
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah Land -- Sweet Beulah Land

I'm looking now across the river
where my faith will end in sight.
There's just a few more days to labor.
Then I will take my heavenly flight.

Beulah Land, I'm longing for you
and some day on thee I'll stand.
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah Land -- Sweet Beulah Land

That song seems to be speaking of Beulah Land as eternity.

Isaiah Chapter 62
1. For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
2. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
3. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

Looks to be The Millennial Kingdom city of Jerusalem and land of Israel, both with new names.

Hephzi-bah = my delight is in her
Beulah = married

Gary who was following googlebot around again. Smile
Thanks, Gary! I understand what Beulah land is, but it was interesting to read the actual 'meaning' of the words.
