Let's classify this as a rant because I'm certainly not raving or rejoicing about it.

I've never heard of the Gay Games but apparently Gay Games VIII is kicking off in Cologne, Germany this weekend. They even have their own Federation! :boggle: There are over 9600 registrations! Eyepop It's the Olympics for queers!

Did you know that American diver Greg Louganis, former LA Dodger outfielder Glenn Burke, rugby player Gareth Thomas, basketball player Sheryl Swoopes (who has a son and didn't discover she was gay till later in life Oldrol10 ), and Canadian swimmer Mark Tewksbury are among those who are "out of the closet and into the locker room?" Do you care? I can't say that I do, but I'm astonished that the queers have their own version of the Olympic Games. They even have major sponsors like AT&T and Tylenol! It's not even new! It was started in San Francisco (there's a surprise) in 1982! ......

What a noble statement of concept and purpose Oldrol10 :

Built upon the principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best, since 1982 the Gay Games have empowered thousands of LGBT athletes and artists through sport, culture, and fellowship.

The mission of the Federation of Gay Games is to promote equality through the organization of the premiere international LGBT and gay-friendly sports and cultural event known as the Gay Games.

While particular emphasis is placed on these specific goals, it is a fundamental principle of the Federation of Gay Games that all activities conducted under its auspices shall be inclusive in nature and that no individual shall be excluded from participating on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, political belief(s), athletic/artistic ability, physical challenge, age, or health status.

Yuk...Gay Games VIII - so this apparently is their 8th competition in 32 years. Hope no media tv networks tune into this. Actuallly, I'm kinda surprised they haven't.

So if they have this, can you kick all the queers out of the regular Olympics?

Sounds reasonable to me! thumbsup
There is nothing Gay about being a sodomite.
It grieves and horrifies me to see a former member of the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers associated with this thing. However, he was such a lacklustre player that I had never heard of him, and I'm a lifelong Dodgers fan. Upon researching his name, which I will not repeat, I see that he only played for Los Angeles for two seasons. Then he made a pass at the son of the manager, Tommy Lasorda. This is exactly the sort of thing that happened to the Marquess of Queensbury: the Sodomite writer Oscar Wilde made a pass at his son. The Marquess, who would later sponsor the Queensbury Rules of boxing, did not take kindly to this, and neither did Lasorda: the fruitbooty was traded to Oakland the following year. One assumes that he received a better reception in the Bay Area; however, he only played one more season. He died of AIDS.

Pardon me if my tears are otherwise spoken for.
