(12-04-2010 10:18 PM)ASongOfDegrees Wrote: [ -> ]I figured back in '93 that the raptured would occur around Sept. of 2011 if the calendar was right.

As far as the generation that shall not perish that Christ mentions in Matthew 24 I don't believe it was the generation of 1948 but the generation that will be alive in Israel when the period of Jacob's trouble begins.

Does this mean the Skipper will have to put up with me for only nine more months?

Seriously though, what makes 2011 any different then 1981 or 1988?

Because it will be 400 years from the translation of the KJB until 2011 and this is about the time of the silent period between Malachi and the first coming of Christ.

Also, if the earth is is about 6000 years old and the millennium is 1000 years then it should be soon. That's if God has a 7,000 year plan for mankind (one week) like some dispensationalists teach.

Anyway, I never said I believed this just that it was a guess on may part once.

If we use Bishop Ussher's calculations, we are already in the year 6014 or 6015, meaning we are already past the 6,000 year mark and into the Millennium. And if Jewish years were meant, we are already a century into the Millennium.

I used the Bible itself. It took me forever to do it. The problem is is that you really don't know how long of a period of time there was between the creation of Adam and his sin in the garden.

You also have to take in account that the calendar may be off.

Anyway, I never said this was a sure thing. It was just something for me to do with my free time.

Also, like I said, I figured the difference between God's final purification of his word (KJB) and the Second Coming might be the same as the period of time between Malachi and the First Coming. A period of silence from God and his prophets. 400 years in between the two. Although, actually, it may have been around 390 years.

Gilligan

Glad to hear you're not saying it is a sure thing.

Three options?
01. If Adam and Eve were in Eden for a lengthy time, they would have been in disobedience; Adam was to know Eve and replenish the earth. There is no record of a child prior to Cain.
02. Adam and Eve did not have enough time to procreate; that would imply a very short period of time.
03. God withheld pregnancy until after fall; that doesn't fit with the command to replenish.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,
