I use 'AV' or 'King James Bible'. It's not a 'version', imho. Smile
Look at me! I'm resurrecting a dead, zombie thread!

Ok, I'm back at this again. I'll be shooting my book off to the publisher next week and I'm working through the proper nouns.

I thought you were doing it back when you first started this thread? Well, I meant to, but, I didn't get around to it, ok....? Laugh

But I am now!

In reference to proper nouns, Heaven, Hell, Paradise, the Judgment Seat of Christ, the Beast of the Sea, the Beast of the Earth... all capitalized as you see here.

My next question for you folks that know English, operating under this, would one capitalize the stand alone words of "beast" and "antichrist", obviously in reference to the antichrist.

Please let me know what you think soon, thanks, I appreciate it.

I would capitalize Beast and Antichrist in any prophetic writing.

What about "...the fourth beast in the book of Daniel..." or "Daniel's beast..."

No. That would cause confusion. "The Beast" refers to the Antichrist; lesser beasts, even if they are types of Antichrist, needn't be capitalized.

I'm not just giving you my personal opinion; this is also the way I've seen it done consistently in all the reading I've done on the subject, from Calvin's Commentaries to Tim LaHaye.

I appreciate it, the Devil (or should I say the Beast) is in the details....
From what I understand of English, if the word is a name, such as "Mom", you capitalize it. "That's my mom" is not capitalized, but "my mom, Ruth" is correct: her name is capitalized, but not her family relationship.

"The Beast" is his name, so it should be capitalized. "Another beast" is descriptive, but not his name, so it should not be capitalized.

At least that's the way I understand it.

And I agree with William. Smile

Thanks, sister, but if we're gonna be sticklers, let's be sticklers. "The Beast" is not his name; it's one of his titles. His name will probably end up being Pope Judas the I or something - - - although even that will be an assumed name, like all Popes use.
