Really wishing there was a link to view threads that have not been read. It would make things easier to see what has happened after coming back from several days of not being able to access the forum.
That's what "View New Posts" is for; it shows you what's been posted since the last time you were signed in. But on the main page, the index, the little ball to the left of the section or forum title is black if it contains unread posts; if it's white, you've read, or at least looked at, everything.
Yeah, but if you accidentally shut it down and re-open it, then the new post thingy doesn't work.
No, it doesn't, but the black round thingies still show up as black and round.
Hmm, not on mine, maybe its my browser, I'll have to experiment on that.
The ball thingies are not blacked consistently for me. Some are, but most are not. I am having to open each category to see which threads are unread.

True; I've experienced that before. Then I use the "view today's posts" but that's not much help when you've been gone for a week!

I've never used the black and white balls either. I wondered what they were about......

I don't use them either. To be honest, I don't even try to read every post that's been posted; I don't have time. But I know about the black ball/white ball thingie, because I tested it. If you go to the bottom of the Index page, and click "Mark All Forums Read," all the black balls disappear. Some Mods use those things to show 'em where they need to look. I don't, but it's good that some do. I approach it through "Read New Posts/Read Today's Posts."

Sorry I can't help you with your problem, Brother Daniel. It's aggravating.
I'm just glad they invented tabbed browsing, I open all the forums in tabs and go from there.

Now, that's a good idea, brother!

I have the same issue: I want to check out all the posts that I have not read, and the black/grey balls are not consistently correct...you have to open up each individual forum to see which ones you haven't read yet.
