Regarding the recent news event from Tucson, AZ:

Quote:We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions. - Ronald Reagan
Quote:"Government should not intrude on private family matters." - B.H. Obama

Tape
Quote:“More important than the appearance of sitting together is what we do together. And the American people are more interested in actual accomplishments on a bipartisan basis here in the next six to nine months than they are with the seating arrangement at the State of the Union,” - Mitch McConnell
I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born.

--Ronald Reagan
There is no attribute more comforting to His children than that of God's sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe that sovereignty has ordained their afflictions, that sovereignty overrules them, and that sovereignty will sanctify them all. There is nothing for which the children ought to more earnestly contend to than the doctrine of their Master over all creation-the Kingship of God over all the works of His own hands-the Throne of God and His right to sit upon that throne...for it is God upon the Throne whom we trust.

--C. H. Spurgeon

Lee thought for a moment, then rated him as being very satisfactory. The person who asked the question said. "But general, I guess you don't know what he's been saying about you." "Oh yes," answered Lee. "I know. But I was asked my opinion of him, not his opinion of me."

O boy, is there a lesson to us all....
Very good one!

They are for the Dutch too if you'd translate them in Dutch.....

"Captain, my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me." He added, after a pause, looking me full in the face: "That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave"

Our God was my shield. His protecting care is an additional cause for gratitude

I see from the number of physicians that you think my condition dangerous, but I thank God, if it is His will, that I am ready to go. (General Jackson on his Death Bed)

General Stonewall Jackson

(Yes, can't help it but I admire this man and how he lived in faith)

Stonewall Jackson is one of my few earthly heroes. He and Robert E. Lee were genuinely devout men, humble and utterly consecrated to Jesus. And there were men like them on the Northern side, too. That was the greatest tragedy of the War for Southern Independence, or any civil war: you have Christians killing Christians. But the time is coming, and they knew it, when they'll be reunited, without such ugly distractions!
When things aren't going right...go left.
