Since there may be some confusion, we figured that you might like to know about User Titles in this forum.
User titles are the little words that appear directly beneath your name on your posts, or in the Membership List. In many forums, there's a "default set," that changes as you post more often: at first you're a "Newbie," then a "Junior Member," then a "Senior Member," etc. Or sometimes the Administrator makes up funny titles for each level.
Well, we're not gonna do that here. Here's the way it works:
Most of you will notice that you're listed as "Charter Members." That's a newbie, but a very special kind of newbie: you're our very first members, like the founding members of a new church! An online dictionary defines "charter member" as "one of the original members when an organization was founded." It's kind of an honor, as a matter of fact, and some of you, we hope, will want to keep that title!
But from now on, everyone joining will be listed as "Member." Then, after you have posted forty posts, you can pick a title of your own choosing, just like you're allowed to do at other forums. It can be anything you want, but you need to think about it, because we don't want to be changing names all the time. It can be "Saved by Grace" or "Bible Believer" or whatever you want, but it should be something serious, that reflects the way you want to be seen.
Why the number forty? (Most forums make you wait until 100.) One of our Moderators suggested it, because forty is the number of testing and probation in the Bible. It seemed like a good idea!
When you reach 40 posts, just PM me, or one of the Mods, and I'll change your title to whatever you want. Don't tell us in this thread, please: when you want your title changed, PM us. That will be quicker.
But if you don't want to be a "Charter Member" any more, you'll hurt our feelings.....
No, you won't. It's up to you!
Thanks for your time!
