Gosh those guys are dedicated searching all those long years.Probably it's the place more than finding the lost dutchman mine..they must love the journeys.
Great tourist industry they have there.Have you ever stayed and gone on a trek?

Yes, it's gorgeous here. I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if I've "stayed" here because I actually live right here, literally in the foot hills of these mountains, about 1,000 feet above Phoenix. Have I trekked through the desert looking for the lost mine? Nahhhh. Way too much work as I don't have the gold bug. I have trekked across the desert terrain to the pool and the hot tub.

Wow that literally is your backyard then.Beats living in a street hands down.

Well, it looks like we got a little mixed up here in the US because it was named after a man from Germany, not the Netherlands.

From what I have heard, the 'Dutch' who settled in Pennsylvania were actually Germans. However, the word for 'German' in their language is 'Deutsch'.

Some think that's where the confusion came from.

Could very well be.
I don't mind though, Germans and Dutch people are not that different.
In fact the Dutch and German languages are family lannguages, just like Frisian and English
We've seen that your KJB is easier to read for us (Frisian natives) than for modern day Americans There are so much similarities between both languages. And the same goes actually for us as Dutch people with the old Luther Bible; because our Dutch Bible also holds some (old) German words. And both languages are related.

Personally, I think it's all a big sham, a lie, and a ruse that Americans supposedly have a hard time reading the KJB.

Those who publish 'new' Bibles want people to think that they need an 'easier to read' Bible. Yeah, right... (insert sarcastic smilie here)

The KJB has been tested at a 4th grade level, that's 9 and 10 year old children's reading level. If someone has a hard time reading at that level, they need remedial reading classes, not an 'easier' Bible.

That's what they want you to believe. The guy's name wasn't Jacob Waltz at all, and he wasn't from Germany. His name was Fridolin Goudenvinger, and he was from Austria.
