This is too easy but I couldn't find anything else.

"The Starry Night," by Vincent Van Gogh.
It looks to me like miniature "brass knuckles" like for two fingers instead of four, but they are not brass. I'm not sure what the vane is about.

You are exactly right, brother. Vane is the brand name.

Very strange indeed, I had hesitated to post the response for not wanting to appear foolish. They look more for show or to sell at carnivals, I am dubious of how well they would actually work.
Let me see what strange photograph I can discover.

Yes. It's hard to concentrate all the force of one's arm and hand into a two-knuckle area, especially without the extension that fits into one's palm. The picture was of steel knuckles, which would work just fine if they were the four-finger style; but Vane also makes them in brass, and probably even gold, which can be inscribed, like a wedding ring. These are popular among a segment of our population known for its devotion to, ahem, "bling."
Give me plain old brass knucks any day.

Well silliness abounds. They should have at least inscribed the letters so that the imprint they leave would be readable, now that would be funny.
Oh well
This should be fairly easy.
