Okay - I hear alot about "Blowouts"

What are they??? Are they like the IFB Jubilee/Camp Meetings/Revival Meetings???

Gary

All I know about them is that they are held at Dr. Ruckman's church twice a year. I know they have lots of great preaching. One of my desires is to go to one some day.

Out here in the west we have Tent Meetings and Revival Meetings. I have never been to a Jubilee or a Camp Meeting. I am not sure what they are. The last Tent Meeting I was at was 20 years ago.

Someone with actual attendance at a Blowout will have to answer more fully Sister.

Thanks!
I think a Jubilee & Camp meeting are the same as the Tent Meetings/Revival Meetings. It is where lots of different preachers come out for a couple days - a week and preach. Lots of food, preachin' and fellowship.
I had to post this at another forum a long time ago and pulled it up. Hopefully this helps:

For the blowout, there are either three or four guest preachers invited in to preach.

Regarding the schedule, the morning services start at 10:00 a.m and the evening services start at 6:00 p.m. (There are evening services on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and morning services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings.) Two preachers preach each morning and two preachers preach each evening. There is usually a 10 minute break in between the preachers. Dr. Ruckman only preaches one service - which is Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. All the other ones are the guest preachers (which is a total of 13 messages plus Dr. Ruckman's Sunday School=14). There is a lot of music starting off each preacher...sometimes it is the congregation singing, sometimes it is a special. You never know what is coming up next!

The blowout is usually the third weekend of February and third weekend in September - but you need to check ahead of time at http://www.kjv1611.org/blowoutinformation.html because sometimes it is a little different.

Hope this explains it a little to you. Wow, how many times did I use the word "preach" in the above explanation??? Oh well, it's all good!

I think Ruckmans blowout might also have specials at the book store.
At our house, being on our ninth child, a "blowout" was when the side of the diaper could not withstand the force of...poopy pressure! POW! SMUSH! A blowout. Yuk! Eek

I have seen that side of a 'blowout' too!!! :laughi10:
During the blowout, there aren't any extra specials or anything at the Bookstore. The only special there is that if you purchase something there at the bookstore, it is 20% off...but that is all the time to anyone that goes in there. So that is worth the trip in itself!

Oh, and the February 2010 Blowout Sermons and Music MP3 is now online and available for purchase. It is at http://host248.ebm.bestsoftwarehost.com/...ompany=bbb . Just updated about an hour ago!
