Hmmmm ... I think Laura is the only Canadian member we have so far .... unless a few have slipped over the border while I wasn't looking ....

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving!
I betcha the Canadians have their Thanksgiving earlier because by November they'd be hip-deep in snow... Biggrin
Thanks, eh?

We had a testimony time at church last night during the Lord's Table. The Holy Spirit was really moving because whereas people are usually reluctant to speak up, last night most of the congregation spoke, and there were a few more tears than usual.

We truly do have so much to be thankful for, and there is so much we're inclined to take for granted!

I think I'll take more time to meditate on this Psalm today as it was the text for last night's message:

Ps 32:1 ¶ A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Ps 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Ps 32:3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
Ps 32:4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
Ps 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Ps 32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
Ps 32:7 ¶ Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Ps 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Ps 32:9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
Ps 32:10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
Ps 32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

LOL, Boxing Day is December 26. It depends on the year how much snow we have...could be none, could be a couple feet. During a good winter we don't have stuff that sticks around till January, but I have seen a few substantially white Christmases in my day too.
Do you guys celebrate the Birth of Christ on Boxing day or do you celebrate Christmas too? In Canada that is..

Christmas is always on the 25th of December, boxing day is the retail holiday of 'give me more of your money' always on the 26th of December.

I have gone for a game of golf on New Years day a number of times, don't believe all that 'way up north' propaganda, our weather cushion is often the great lakes shielding us from all the ugly stuff, and sometimes they can contribute to the ugly stuff. :laughi10:

LOL! The Great Lakes is what gives us our snow in the Upper Penisula!! lol!!!! Lake Superior - most of the snow up there is lake effect. :laughi10: Isn't it funny how the same lakes cause different weather in different places?!?!?

Golfing on New Year's Day?? Wow! We couldn't do that where I grew up. Unless we had colored golf balls and snowshoes. :laughi10:
