How do you split up a posters paragraphs when posting a response, so that you can contend with each issue of their post line by line?
It takes a little work on your part. It has to be done manually and you need a cursory knowledge of how tags work. Each line must be delineated by quote tags, including their name is optional.

Click the reply button and then instead of quoting the entire post quote each line. You will have to delete and add tags to accomplish what you want. Then preview the post before submitting to make sure its formatted the way you want.
Shield, I'm gonna use Daniel's reply as an example. Instead of hitting the "Add Reply" button outside the post, I hit the Reply button inside the post, next to the button with the little red X. That brings up a new window with Daniel's post already quoted. So, let's say I want to quote his first paragraph: I just leave it the way it is, but at the end, put the code [/quote] after his last word. Then I go to a new line and write my response.

Then, to quote his next paragraph, I just left-click and highlight it, then move the cursor to the little picture of a dialog balloon, right under the YouTube logo, and click it. That places quote code at both ends of the paragraph.

[/quote]

But, do you see the extra [/quote] code? That was already there, because we had quoted the entire thing. You need to delete that one. Or, you could have skipped the highlighting trick, and typed the quote code in at the beginning of his words.

The code is simple:

The "end quote" code looks like [/quote]
The "begin quote" code looks like [quote]
You gotta have both, but you only need one of each, for one quote.

If there are sentences or paragraphs you want to ignore, just zap them, by backspacing over them, or highlighting them and hitting "Enter."

Trial and error. If you screw up a post, delete it, and do it again. You'll get the hang of it real quick.
