BLACK HOLE
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: Psalm 102:25-26
Is a Black Hole how God is going to roll the Heaven up like a garment.
The verse do not actually contain "roll", but a massive black hole swallow matter and contorts matters and time and space.
That's a very interesting question, brother. I've always been fascinated by "outer space", both of its mysteries and its beauty. Being a Bible-believer however, I give little credence to modern scientific theory regarding the Universe. "Black Holes" (whatever they are) may or may not exist, but due to the hypothetical "evolutionary/Big-Bang" type of foundation, I personally question everything concerning modern cosmology. Truth be told, modern science knows very little about the Universe. Most of what they call "science" is little more than speculations, built on speculations, built on more speculations. That being said though, I do not discount the possibility that some of their knowledge may originate from a higher source - but not the Creator (see Eph. 6:12). To answer your question, the Scriptures use several typologies to represent the shape of the Universe; a garment, a curtain, a scroll and a tent. While the verses you quote above (Psalms 102:25-26) do not use the word "roll", the word is found on a couple of occasions.
"And the Heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places." Rev. 6:14
"And all the host of Heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree." Isa. 34:4
The word "roll" as used here does not so much represent a "single spinning hole" movement as seen with a black hole, as it represents a "top-to-bottom" or "side-to-side" type of "rolling together" movement. Other verses of Scriptures show the cosmos being "folded" together (see Heb. 1:11-12). This also suggests some type of "top-to-bottom" or "side-to-side" type of collapsing. Since the Bible presents the heavens as a 3D garment-like structure (especially a tent), this means the Universe occupies a limited, measurable amount of space with a top, bottom and sides that can be "folded" together.
"It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in" Isa. 40:22
FOOTNOTE: There are modern scientific theories dealing with "folding space". The supposed benefits of "folding" points of outer space would be to travel from "point A" to "point B" instantly without having to travel the distance in-between. It's like the difference in drawing a straight line on a piece of paper, or simply adding two endpoints and then folding the paper to make the points touch - the distance in the middle is bypassed. Since the Bible pictures outer space as a foldable garment or curtain, this theory may actually be true (whether man can accomplish such a feat is another matter altogether). The modern terminology given to these "touching points of folded space" is "wormholes" - an interesting name, especially if you know what the Bible says about "worms".
Excellent post, Brother Jeff, much thought put in it. I thought I read the term "rolled up" somewhere.
This is quite interesting. I also have been fascinated with outer space and the glory of God which it shows. I just can't imagine that this "process?" will be done before our very eves........Perhaps from the safety of the NEW JERUSALEM.
Isa:51:6: Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
De:32:22: For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest Hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
Psalms:21:8: Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Psalms:21:9: Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
Psalms:21:10: Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
Psalms:21:11: For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
Psalms:21:12: Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
Psalms:21:13: Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. And how I also thank God that He shall wipe away all our tears and that the former things will be remembered NO MORE. I also wonder that perhaps the new creation will be done before our very eyes? I hope so, I sure would one day like to see the AWESOME POWER of HIS WORD.......
He takes off his garment, folds it up then melts it with a fervent heat. Burns it up. The three hebrew children went through the fire- Dan 3:27 Isa 43:2. The revelation of the new jerusalem is not until after the new heavens and new earth are created - rev 21:1,2. The new jerusalem as well, as far as i understand, is for the bride of christ. Doubtless there will be countless people still alive at the end of the millenium. I wonder how they make it through? The christian of this age will be on the earth in the millenium as well (hopefully ruling and well clothed!). John, who is one of the best types of the church in the new testament is on the earth when new jerusalem comes down.
I think the answer may have something to do with rev. 20:11. At the great white throne the heavens are fled away, presumably burnt up. millions of lost souls, as well as some saved of the tribulation, millenium, and old testament, are face to face with God. The only thing that is around them is his presence, holding them up. below them is the lake of fire.
The great white throne will also be where all the saved of this age are when the earth is burned up- 1 cor. 6:2. not being judged, but judging.
So to summarize, the only thing that is going to get us through is the fact that we are saved and in his presence at that point. The lost soul cannot make it through when the earth is burned up, neither can he make it in the presence of a god who is a consuming fire.

Excellent post, brother. Thank you!
Are "black holes" for real? I know that scientists really have never seen one. It's still a theory that is based upon another theory (i.e. Einstein's theory of relativity).
